The HI72911B is a double junction pH electrode, with titanium body, polymer electrolyte and BNC + RCA connectors.
The flat tip of this electrode is made of glass for general use. It is also equipped with a PTFE porous septum and built-in temperature sensor.
Ideal for measuring pH in boilers and cooling towers, designed for use with the Hanna HI98191 pH meter.
- Durable titanium body
- Built-in temperature sensor
- PTFE porous septum
The HI72911B features a general purpose (GP) glass flat tip, titanium body, and PTFE porous septum with polymer electrolyte.

Glass formulation for general use
Measurement of pH at very high temperatures is detrimental to the sensitive glass bulb and causes its lifespan to decrease. A pH electrode made with a general purpose (GP) glass tip has a resistance of approximately 100 megohms at 25 ° C, while an LT (low temperature) glass tip has a resistance of approximately 50 megohms at 25 ° C. As the temperature of the glass decreases in the sample, the resistance of the LT glass approaches that of the GP glass. If a GP glass-tipped pH electrode is used, the resistance increases above the optimal value, resulting in a higher impedance and thus influencing the measurement. The HI72911B is suitable for analyzing samples at temperatures between 0 and 80 ° C.

Flat tip
The flat tip of the HI72911B electrode is easy to clean and prevents solids from accumulating on the sensor. Other tip types are, for example, conical for penetration and spherical for measuring aqueous samples.

Titanium body
A titanium body has greater immunity to electrostatic and magnetic fields. It is also very resistant to corrosion, even in seawater.

PTFE porous septum
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a water repellent material available with different porosities. The PTFE porous septum is often found in electrodes with polymer electrolyte. Due to its chemical characteristics, PTFE is widely used in industrial applications.

BNC + RCA connectors
HI72911B is equipped with BNC + RCA connectors. This type of connector is universal as it can be used with pH meters with BNC input for the pH probe and RCA for the temperature probe. Other connector types are: DIN, screw, Type T and 3.5mm mini-jack. These are typically used for a particular type of instrument and are not interchangeable.
