Code HI552202

Benchtop meter for pH-ORP-ISE- and EC-TDS-Salinity- Resistivity mod. HI 5522-02

"Research Grade" Benchtop Multiparameter

The HI5522 professional multiparameter is an advanced benchtop instrument for the laboratory useful for the measurement of pH / ORP / ISE and EC / TDS / Salinity / Resistivity, fully customizable, equipped with a large color graphic display, capacitive keyboard and USB port for the connection to the computer.

The HI5522 professional multiparameter is a dual channel meter that allows you to simultaneously measure pH or ORP or ISE on one channel and EC and related parameters on the other.

The first channel uses a BNC connection to which one of the pH and ORP electrodes belonging to the wide range of Hanna Instruments can be connected.

The meter is supplied with the HI1131B glass-bodied, double-junction combination pH electrode, which operates over a wide temperature range from 0 to 100 ° C. All readings are automatically compensated for temperature variations by the HI7662-T temperature probe or by the temperature sensor built into the conductivity probe on the second channel. The HI5522 comes with the HI76312 four-ring conductivity probe that operates on a wide range from 0.000 μS / cm to 1000.0 mS / cm *.

The instrument can be set to the auto-ranging function and automatically selects the most appropriate conductivity measurement scale, choosing from seven scales or choosing a pre-set scale, displaying readings in μS / cm or mS / cm only.

All readings are automatically compensated for changes in temperature using an integrated temperature sensor. The temperature correction coefficient can be set from 0.00 to 10.00% / ° C. HI5522 when used as a pH meter can be calibrated up to five points with the possibility of choosing between 8 stored buffers or 5 customized buffers.

The HI5522 professional multiparameter features Hanna's unique CAL Check ™ electrode diagnosis system that alerts the user if there are any problems during the pH calibration process.

The indicators that may appear during calibration are "Dirty / Broken Electrode" and "Contaminated Buffer".

The general condition of the probe, based on the offset and the slope value of the electrode, is displayed as a percentage after the completion of the calibration procedure.

Calibration data (date, time, buffers used, offset and slope) can be viewed at any time along with the current measurement by selecting the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) option. As an EC / TDS / Salinity / Resistivity meter, HI5522 it can be calibrated up to four points with the possibility of choosing between 6 memorized or customized buffers.

Resistivity, TDS, Practical Salinity Scale (PSU) and Natural Seawater Scale are calibrated by conductivity.

The% NaCl salinity measurements are calibrated on a single point with the HI7037 salinity standard.

The stored calibration data (date, time and standards used, offset and cell factor) can be viewed at any time along with the current measurement by selecting the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) data display option.

The HI5522 meets the testing requirements for the quality of high purity water used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, as reported in the USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) section 645.

Up to 200 reports can be stored and transferred to a compatible Windows® computer using the USB cable and software (sold separately).

There are three data storage modes: manual, automatic and automatic storage with stable reading (Auto-Hold).

Up to 100,000 data can be logged in 100 batches with 50,000 records per batch on each channel and exported to a computer for review and data archiving.

Function overview

Highly customizable user interface

The HI5522 interface allows the user to view measurements in different modes: basic measurement with or without GLP information, real-time graph view and stored data view. The calibration stability settings can be adjusted quickly, moderately and accurately. The programmable alarm limit values can be set within or outside the permitted limit values.

Color graphic LCD display

HI5522 is equipped with a new user interface enhanced by the large backlit color graphic display, allowing the user and instrument to communicate in a simple and direct language. The interface is entirely in Italian and online help is always available at the push of a button.

Capacitive keyboard

The HI5522 is equipped with sensitive capacitive buttons, which make it even easier to navigate through menus and screens. It is equipped with four keys dedicated to routine operations, including calibration and measurement conversion mode, and four virtual keys that change their function according to use. As they are part of the screen, the buttons will never be blocked by sample residue.

Four ring conductivity probe

All readings are taken with the HI76312 four-ring conductivity probe, which has a built-in temperature sensor for automatic correction for temperature values. The four rings are made of platinum and the electrode body is made of Polyetherimide (PEI) plastic, resistant to many harsh chemicals. The four ring design allows this probe to be used for a wide range of measurements.

Select the calibration mode

You can choose to calibrate with automatic standard solution recognition, with user standard solution (semi-automatic) or with manual calibration, using up to five points, from a selection of eight standard buffers and up to five custom buffers. For the conductivity channel, the calibration can be set to automatic standard recognition or direct user entry with single or multi-point selection. Calibration can be performed up to four points when the multi-point function is selected.

CAL Check ™ system

Alerts the user to potential problems during the pH electrode calibration procedure. The warnings that appear are: "dirty / broken electrode", "contaminated buffer solution", electrode response time and general condition of the probe in percent, which is based on the offset and slope characteristics.

GLP data

The HI5522 is equipped with GLP features that allow users to view calibration data and calibration due information at the touch of a button. Calibration data includes date, time and buffers used for calibration.

Data storage

There are three data storage modes: manual, automatic and automatic storage with stable reading (Auto-Hold). Up to 100,000 records can be logged in 100 batches with 50,000 records per batch on each channel. With automatic logging you can save data based on periodicity and sampling interval.

Data transfer

The data can be transferred to a PC through a USB cable and with special software

Online help

Context-sensitive online help is always available by pressing the appropriate "HELP" button. Messages and instructions are shown on the display to guide users quickly and easily, from configuration to the calibration procedure. The help information displayed relates to the settings / options displayed.

The HI5522 professional multiparameter is supplied with pH electrode, temperature probe, conductivity probe, electrode holder, sachet of pH 4.01 buffer solution, sachet of pH 7.01 buffer solution, sachet of cleaning solution for electrodes (2), electrolyte 3.5M KCl solution ( 30 ml), 12 VDC power adapter and instructions.
