The counting chambers differ in the counting grids and in the depth of the chambers.
Perpendicular lines, engraved in the surface of the base of the chamber, form a grid that becomes visible under the microscope.
Approved for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) applications, according to IVD directive 98/79 / EC, with CE mark
On request, blood cell counters with “Bright Lines” grating are available which facilitate the evaluation of the sample thanks to the luminous lines that contrast well with the dark background.
The depth of the Neubauer improved chamber is 0.1mm.
The grid consists of 3 x 3 large squares with an area of 1 mm² each.
The large central square is divided into a group of 5 x 5 squares with a side of 0.2 mm each.
These groups of squares are further subdivided into 16 by an area of 0.05mm x 0.05mm = 0.0025mm² each.
Since the counting chamber is equipped with squares of different sizes it can be used to count different types of cells, for example leukocytes and erythrocytes.
